Term 1 - Why is Bristol brilliant?

 

This term Ruby Class will be learning all about why Bristol is brilliant. We will be exploring this question throughout our topic learning.

In History we will be learning all about Carmen Beckford.

In Geography we will be exploring the journey of the Empire Windrush using atlases and maps.

In Science we will be investigating science through stories. 

In Art we will be creating collage of Carmen Beckford inspired by the artist Megan Coyle. 

In DT we will be designing and making our own carnival masks. 

In Computing we will be looking at information technology around us.

 

Term 2 - How did railways change things for people in Bristol?

 

In History we will be learning all about the importance of railways in Bristol. 

In Science Year 2 are exploring microhabitats and Year 3 are exploring forces and magnets.

In Art we will be exploring print making and making our own Christmas cards with prints.

In DT we will be designing and making stockings.

In Computing we will be looking at online safety.

In French we have been learning French colours and numbers. 

Term 3 - How have toys changed over time?

 

In History we will be learning all about  how toys have changed over time.

In Science Year 2 are exploring everyday materials and Year 3 are exploring light and shadows.

In Art we will be exploring colour and will be using inspiration from the artist Paul Klee.

In DT we will be designing and making toy cars.

In Computing we will be looking at online photography. 

In French we have been learning animals.
