In accordance with The Department for Education we aim to actively promote British values in schools to ensure young people leave school prepared for life in modern Britain. Pupils are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races and cultures with respect and tolerance and understand that while different people may hold different views about what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’, all people living in England are subject to its law.
The Key Values are:
2018 - 19
Fundamental British Values form part of our curriculum and children have opportunities to learn about the 5 values on a daily basis through the curriculum, collective worship and assemblies.
In Term 1 2018, all learners will be part of agreeing on and writing their class charter in line with our behaviour policy. Pupils will also be voting for School Council members and members of our Chaplaincy team.
Our pupils discuss topical events and often watch Newsround during the school day.
12th - 16th November - British Values Focus
During this week we will be holding a "Faith Week", Parliamentary Week and Anti-Bullying Week. All pupils will be involved in activities focusing on the above and will have the opportunity to listen to visiting speakers and a Diwali Workshop.
