Numbers to 20 and beyond!
We have been focusing on ordering our numbers correctly when counting from zero to twenty. We have challenged ourselves to count beyond twenty, talking about the patterns that we have found.
These are some of the ways that we have been building and ordering numbers using ten frames, Numicon, number tiles and washing lines.

2D Shapes - We have explored circles, triangles, squares and rectangles, counting their sides and representing them with a variety of different materials. Here are some of our independent shape creations!

Matching and Sorting - We have enjoyed finding objects in the classroom which are the 'same'! We have also been sorting objects into different groups such as size and colour.
Measuring - children enjoyed building towers out of unifix cubes and then used these to measure objects around the classroom. We used measuring language such as 'big', 'tall', 'small' and 'tiny' to describe different objects.
Numbers to 5 - We have been learning our number bonds to 5 and improving our "number sense" by finding, subitising and representing numbers from zero to five.
