School Closure update - 4th January 2021

4th January 2021

Dear parents and carers

Happy New Year! We hope you all had a good Christmas with your families and support bubbles.

RE: School closure this week- Weds 6th- Friday 8th January

I am writing to you to inform you that the school will unfortunately have to close this week to all children except those of critical/key workers and vulnerable children. We are very sorry that this has had to happen, but I am sure you will agree that schools have been faced with some incredibly difficult decisions in light of the new strain and spread of Covid-19. We are working tirelessly to open to those in most need with the staff that we will have. I can assure you that staff who will not be in school have very good reason not to be for the sake of their loved ones at home who are very vulnerable or susceptible to the virus. We are all human beings and, as we know from Public Health data, this virus is not choosy with who it infects.

A text has already been sent out to you all and some of you will also have received a phone call from us already. I would like to re-iterate the content of these again:

  1. If you have become a critical worker since the National Lockdown in the summer and need a place for your child, then please call us as soon as possible
  2. Parents who have a child classed as ‘vulnerable’ will also receive a phone call from us asking if you would like a place
  3. If you believe you are in one of the two groups above, but have not received call as yet and are worried or would like a place, then please call the school office.

Please understand that you are under no obligation to send your child to school at this time.  This is your decision as a parent whether you wish to send your child to school if they are entitled to a place. Please do not worry if you decide not to. Call us to discuss it if you are worried.

We will email out the latest updated Risk Assessment for your information today or tomorrow.

I would like you to know that we are here for you at this very troubling time and if there is anything else we can do to help you, then please call us.

God bless and sending our warmest wishes to each and every one of you.
