9th December 2020
Dear Parents and Carers,
I write further to the guidance that was released to schools yesterday afternoon by the central government which advises that Friday 18th December is taken as an INSET day even if this was not previously agreed.
Therefore, the last day of term for all children will be next Thursday 17th December. We will still make sure that all the children have a really lovely day with the usual festivities, even though they do look rather different this year with no celebrations in the hall and the usual fun!
This will enable myself and other members of staff to be ‘on call’ to complete the track and trace we are required to do for the six days after the last day of contact in school. In real terms, this means that nobody- your families or the staff’s families- receives a call on Christmas Eve asking you to self-isolate. I’m sure you will completely agree that would not be a very welcome Christmas present for any of us.
Should your child received a positive test result for Covid-19 from Friday 18th December to Wednesday 23rd December then you should notify us via email@example.com
This email will be checked at 9am and 3pm each day and all necessary steps will be taken to inform those affected. If you have trouble emailing the information, then Miss Allen will have the school mobile with her for TEXTS ONLY. The number is: 07379 085588 and will also be checked at 9am and 3pm daily.
From Thursday 24th December to Monday 4th January you should not inform the school, but allow the NHS Track and Trace to complete this function.
I apologise for the late notification to you but we only received this information ourselves yesterday. Thank you for your understanding with this.
Miss H Dunford
