Our Teacher is Miss Phipps and we are supported by Miss Berrymoore and Miss Delves.
On Wednesday afternoons we have forest school with Miss Logan.

π Reading - We will be changing books every Monday. Please bring in your reading folders everyday. We have lots of volunteers and teachers who love to read with children. By having your reading folders in everyday, children have lots of opportunities to read! Please read daily with your child and sign their reading diaries.
β½ PE - Every Thursday we will be having our PE sessions in the afternoon. Please bring in PE kits every Thursday to change in school. Children will need a white top, black leggings/ joggers and daps.
π³ Forest School - Every Wednesday the children will have Forest School with Miss Logan. Please can all children bring a spare pair of clothes, welly boots and a waterproof jacket!
π World Book Day π
HAPPY WORLD BOOK DAY! We enjoyed celebrating world book day in Diamond Class by dressing up as our favourite character from our favourite stories. We made our own books, designed book marks, wrote book reviews and designed a new book cover too! We had a visit from the author Alexa Brown to learn all about her book Mr Leopard’s Bookshop. We made our own animal for a book. We made butterflies, fish and rabbits ! π°π¦π
πΏ Weaving πΏ
In forest school we have been learning how to weave. We had to go over and under, over and under. We used our new skills of weaving to create Mother's Day cards.
ππ΄ St David's Day π΄π
We celebrated St David's Day in Diamond Class by wearing yellow! We learnt all about who St David was and how people celebrate in Wales. Miss Phipps told us all about her childhood and how she used to celebrate St David's day by eating Welsh cakes and taking part in a Eisteddfod - which is a big performance filled with singing and dancing!
πΊπ Movema Dance Workshops ππΊ
We have been having dance workshops with Movema! They came in to show us different ways to move and how to make our movements into dances. We shared our animal dances with the Year 4 and Year 6 classes. We also watched their performances which were amazing!
πΆπ° Amazing Animals - Pets π°πΆ
In Term 3 Diamond Class have been learning all about amazing animals. During the last week of term we were learning all about pets. We worked together as a class to write a shopping list for Miss Phipps' new puppy and we also had a visit from Mrs Collins dog Brodie and rabbit Benji. We learnt all about how to look after them, what they eat and how to brush them. Brodie the dog can do lots of tricks and loves to go on walks. Benji the rabbit enjoyed having lots of Diamond Class cuddles!






π» Music with Preludes π»
Every week we are very lucky to have Preludes take our music lessons. We learn how to play and read music using lots of different instruments. We also learn lots of key vocabulary such as allegro (fast), largo (slow), forte (loud) and piano (quiet). In Term 3 we learnt how to play the violin! It was fun to learn how to hold it properly and to hear the different sounds it can make.
β¨ The Old Vic Theatre Workshop β¨
Diamond Class loved the workshop with the Old Vic Theatre group! We learnt all about what drama is and worked in groups to act out different kinds of animals. We were farm animals, bees and sea creatures too! Our children were amazing actors and have asked to do more acting in class.
πΌ Gardening (CST) πΌ
In Diamond Class we love to look after God's world! We have been busy tidying up our garden area to get it ready to grow some beautiful flowers to welcome back the bees and butterflies this spring/ summer. We have been working together to create a space which is clean and ready for our flowers to grow. Some of the children have asked if we can grow peas again this year and to have a sun flower competition!


π― Amazing Animals - Miss Phipps is a zoo keeper for the day! π―
This term we have been learning all about Amazing Animals! On the weekend Miss Phipps went to Dartmoor Zoo to get up close and personal with lots of different types of animals. Miss Phipps fed the meerkats, otters, tigers and Mr Pickles the deer! She shared everything she learnt about these amazing animals and showed us lots of pictures and videos too! Have you ever been to a zoo? What is your favourite animal?






π Christmas π
WOW what an exciting time of the year we have been celebrating! We have been making lots of different Christmas crafts, eating Christmas breakfast and lunch, singing lots of Christmas songs and we visited the church to perform our nativity to our friends and family.
On our last day of term, we had a very special visitor.... FATHER CHRISTMAS!!! He brought presents and joy to Diamond Class. We gave him some carrots for his reindeers and wished him a very merry Christmas.
π Library Visit π
Diamond Class went on a school trip to the local library. We enjoyed a short walk and saw lots of nature along the way. Once we got to the library we listened to some stories as a whole class and then we went off to explore the books they had. We were very excited to learn that you can borrow up to 20 books!
β¨ We the Curious β¨
We had a visit from the team at 'We the Curious'. They came into school to teach us all about rainforests and different animals that live there.
We learnt all about the different types of skin the animals have, the eggs they lay and we also explored their skeletons and teeth. We had secret boxes where we had to put our hands in and feel around and guess what animals it might be.





π¦Owl Visitπ¦
To support our learning of Owl Babies this term we had a visit from David and his barn owl Lockie.
We learnt all about what he eats, his sharp talons, what baby owls are called and we also learnt that they can see in the dark! It was so fun and interesting.
