St Nicholas of Tolentine Catholic Primary School

Where charity and love are, God is there

School Values

Our vision and values

St Nicholas Of Tolentino was known for having a special love of children, a passion for caring for the poor and an ability to heal suffering and hurt. It is fitting that our name reflects our values; children and young people are at the centre of all we do; we are totally committed to care for all in our community, but particularly the most disadvantaged; and we seek to heal hurt and inequality wherever we encounter it.

Learning here at St Nicholas of Tolentine is underpinned by our six core values: Enjoy, Success, Respect, Community, Responsibility and Compassion.

Our values show that we place an emphasis on individual achievement whilst building an awareness and understanding of others. Our values have been underpinned by scriptures from the Bible, which matches them to the Catholic Ethos running through the school.

The school is a caring community that values personal, social and emotional development as well as academic and creative achievement.

We believe that a rich and engaging curriculum journey is every child’s entitlement so that they truly enjoy their learning. We want children to be able to see themselves and their families in what we provide from the diverse backgrounds they bring. This enriches learning journeys for all and brings together the six core values of the school.

ENJOY

We have fun in school because we believe this helps us learn.

SUCCESS

We do our best because we want to achieve well.

RESPECT

We are honest with each other. We use our manners and are polite to everyone.

COMMUNITY

We are together. We learn from each other.

RESPONSIBILITY

We are all trusted with responsibilities. We trust each other.

COMPASSION

We care about each other. We show kindness to one another
